Korea Resumes Offline
Training Programme for Aviation Professionals from Developing Countries
- Offline Course on
Aviation Policy for Executives
to Begin from April 25th -
¡à The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT, Minister NOH
Hyeong-ouk) announced that the Republic of Korea – International Civil Aviation
Organization* Developing Countries Training Programme, which
has been conducted online due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will be held fully
offline this year.
* ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) is a specialized agency of
the United Nations established in 1947 to promote orderly growth and
development of international air transport.
¤· Starting with the Course on Aviation Policy for
Executives held from 25 to 29 April 2022 at Gimpo Airport Aviation Security
Training Center (ASTC), MOLIT plans to resume the ICAO Training Programme for
aviation personnel from developing countries.
¡à This
year¡¯s Training Programme consists of courses on aviation policy, airport
development and operation, aviation security and air navigation safety
facilities. More than 2,700 trainees from 135 countries have completed the
Training Programme since 2001, and this year MOLIT will invite a total of
around 250 selected trainees for 14 courses delivered under the Training
Programme.
¡à In
particular, the Course on Aviation Policy for Executives held from April 25
will invite 12 above-director-level personnel from 7 Asia-Pacific States to provide
information on Korea¡¯s best practices in aviation policy, such as the
construction of Ulleung Airport, Korea Augmentation Satellite System (KASS),
and Korean Urban Air Mobility (K-UAM). Also, the course participants will have
a chance to experience Korea¡¯s advanced technologies in person through site
visits.
¤· The same course will be offered to participants from
Latin America (23 to 27 May) and Africa (29 Aug to 2 Sep) as well. Detailed

Navigation Facilities (ANF) Policy Jongwan Joo said, ¡°As a leading

building assistance to aviation personnel of developing countries.¡±
